City of Bell Partners with Vision Internet to Usher in New Era of Transparency
City of Bell City Council unanimously selects Vision Internet - the Government Website Experts to create an interactive government website for the citizens of Bell
Date: 5/15/2012

The City of Bell is in the midst of transforming the way it interacts with and serves its residents. As part of the new Administration’s open government initiatives, it will create a new city website that provides a high level of transparency and civic engagement. The site will be both informational and interactive, serving as a platform for collaboration between residents, staff members, and elected officials.

To help with the transformation, the City unanimously voted to partner with Vision Internet (www.visioninternet.com). The Santa Monica-based firm is a national leader in government website development serving over 400 government agencies including the cities of San Francisco, CA and Atlanta, GA.

“My team and I are very excited for this opportunity to work with the City of Bell,” said Vision Internet President and Founder, Steve Chapin. “We are committed to building a website that will not only transform the Bell community but will set a new nationwide standard for online government transparency.”

Vision Internet is the ideal partner for the City of Bell because for almost two decades the company has been pioneering government website best practices, setting the standard for successful government websites. They have won over 200 awards for their work with local government agencies throughout the US and Canada. Most recently, the California Association of Public Information Officers (CAPIO) honored their work with the City of Hermosa Beach and the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC).

As part of the project with the City of Bell, Vision Internet will provide consulting, design, and programming services. It will also include Vision Internet’s government content management system, a mobile website, and interactive tools such as an automatic e-notification system, searchable job and bid postings, social media outreach, and streaming video of council meetings.
