When the City of Lexington outlined their top ten goals for the 2012 fiscal year, number six on the list was to “diversify the brand of Lexington including marketing and image”. To help accomplish this goal, the City underwent a complete government website redesign. The City chose to work with Vision Internet to ensure access to the
best government website technology.
The Vision Team introduced a number of advanced yet easy-to-use features to the new website. Some of these features include an E-News System, Advanced Calendar System, Forms/Survey Tool, Document Central, and much more. Fun fonts, community photos, and classic brick background elements were thoughtfully included in the design to give users a true feel for the uniqueness of Lexington.
The navigation was restructured into a more intuitive framework. Quick links, left-side interior navigation, and strategically placed icons guide site visitors through information with ease. The main navigation was designed as a floating navigation that remains at the top of the page as users scroll down. This design feature was a first for Vision Internet and has greatly improved user access.
