The City of Newton’s previous website was a great information tool for City residents and visitors. However, the City wanted their website to do more than just inform; they wanted it to be an interactive communications tool - providing convenient online services for their growing online audience. With this goal in mind, the City researched website vendors and decided the best choice was to work with Vision Internet. The City’s website now provides users with a number of online tools that not only inform but also keep the lines short at City Hall. Users can now apply for building permits and business licenses, report crimes and damaged roads, or learn about new City programs all within seconds of entering the site. The updated dynamic homepage makes it easy for information to flow as the “City News” and “Meetings and Events” sections provide the latest details on City happenings. All of these new services have been incorporated into a design theme that showcases the people, places, and overall excitement for life found within the City.
