Prior to working with Vision Internet, the City of Rohnert Park had a website that was managed with a content management system, but one that had been built to manage business websites, not government. Given the average business website has a limited number of pages, the CMS was not set up to accommodate the navigational needs of a government website with hundreds of pages of content and applications. They created many workarounds to make the site functional for their needs, but even with these changes the site was limited and became increasingly cumbersome to manage.
When it was time to redevelop the site, choosing a company that specialized in government websites was a top priority. The content experts at Vision Internet helped them sift through their pages and create a navigational structure that was intuitive and flexible, allowing them to add information as necessary. Additionally, the design and web teams worked together to create a site that reflected the beauty of this Northern California city nestled in the heart of wine country. The resulting website is both attractive, functional and offers the flexibility to accommodate changes down the road.
