The City of Hercules is located along the I-80 corridor and within minutes of both San Francisco and Napa. The nearly 25,000 residents represent a diverse mix of many ethnic groups. Primarily a suburban, family-oriented community, the City has bold plans for a new town center, a lively waterfront, and an exciting new train and ferry terminal. The City turned to Vision Internet to create a website to show off their community and to enable residents and businesses to get the information they need anytime.
The redesigned website has numerous advanced features including better links from page to page, a “What’s New” section and an active calendar with a listing of current City events and meetings. Visitors can click on a calendar event and get more details such as location or cost and City meetings have additional links to agendas and video. The flexibility of the visionCMS™ allows for easy integration of third party systems, such as the online registration and payment system for the Parks and Recreation Department. Residents can also sign up for E-notices, where they can specify certain departments, or areas of interest such as "Planning Commission" or "Major Projects".
