New City of Bell Website Receives "A-" Rating From Sunshine Review for Transparency
Date: 2/21/2013

Bell, CA – The City of Bell Official City Website (www.cityofbell.org) proudly earned an “A-“rating from the Sunshine Review for its demonstrated commitment to online transparency providing the public greater access to city documents including the Bell City Charter, a City Employee Compensation Listing, Annual Budgets, and Audits – all in a concerted effort to continue to build an open government both within Bell City Hall and the virtual world.

The Sunshine Review’s “A-“ rating is a stark contrast to the “D” rating of the website hosted under the prior administration. It is also reflective of the City’s efforts to enhance transparency in city hall functions. The new website deconstructs the various city departments and their services with the use of a friendly navigation tool bar which features a “Transparency” drop-down option highlighting public records. Prominently displayed on the home page are colorful icons for those most frequently requested City services including yard sales, bus passes, permits, recreation, and public safety.
