In the News: City of Provo to unveil new website
By Billy Hesterman DAILY HERALD -- Provo Mayor John Curtis is set to push a go button on a brand new website for Provo city.
Starting Wednesday at noon, the city will go live with a redesigned website that will put the needs of the residents first.
"The website is one of our most important tools in our ongoing effort to communicate," said Mayor John Curtis. "The redesign will allow for a greater level of transparency and help us better organize and present valuable information."
The new site has been revamped so users can more easily access the information about the city they are seeking. It also is set up to give residents need-to-know information right on the front page, and a clearly visible emergency bar can be placed on the page to alert website visitors about crucial information about the city.
Visitors to the site can also sign up for customized email updates about city operations.
"We saw illustrated clearly that our residents recognize that the way their government communicates with them is important. They expect us to employ the best, most efficient ways to provide them with information how they want and when they want it," said Curtis.
The website is designed to work on any device including laptops, tablets and smartphones.
