Vision Earns International Recognition for Distinctive Work on Sheboygan County Website
County Website Wins Second Award From International Academy of the Visual Arts
SANTA MONICA, CA -- (Nov 7, 2013) - Vision Internet, innovators in online government, today announced that it has been recognized by the International Academy of the Visual Arts (IAVA) with a 2013 Davey Award for the website it designed for Sheboygan County, Wisconsin. The international award is the second award for the Sheboygan County website.
With nearly 4,000 entries from across the U.S. and around the world, the Davey Awards is the largest and most prestigious awards competition exclusively for the "Davids" of creativity. The annual awards, which honor the finest creative work from the best small media, advertising and marketing firms worldwide, is judged and overseen by the IAVA. Winners were announced at the end of October.
"The work entered into this year's competition embodies a smart, tactful approach to creativity and highlights the capabilities and forward thinking mindset that makes small agencies so unique," said Linda Day, executive director of the IAVA.
Josh McDermott, IT manager for Sheboygan County said, "Vision Internet is ahead of the curve. Their creative designs are phenomenal and they give us the ability to post information as soon as it's available. Their content management system is easy to use and the functionality we received for the price is excellent. We had our website completely redesigned, received a CMS that makes us more efficient and have a mobile website, all for less than some other companies wanted for a redesign alone."
Last month, the Sheboygan County website received another award in a separate IAVA competition, the W3 Awards. Judging was based on a website's creativity, usability, navigation, functionality, visual design and ease of use.
"Sheboygan County is a great partner, and these prestigious awards confirm the excellent results of their planning and foresight," said Ashley Fruechting, Vision Internet's director of strategic initiatives. "It's a badge of honor for us as government website developers to incorporate the unique personality of each city and county we work with into our site designs."
At the core of Vision Internet's website functionality is visionCMS™, the innovative government content management system, which allows non-technical staff to add, edit and delete website content while providing the management tools necessary to maintain control, consistency and quality. Sheboygan County was one of the first government entities to incorporate the new visionCMS™ into its website.
